Upgrade your 3M™ Adflo™ Powered Air Respirator

Article By: Australian Welding Supplies (AWS)

We are encouraging all existing 3M Adflo Powered Air Respirator customers to move across to the new Lithium-Ion (grey) Adflo batteries, as the old Ni-MH (black) batteries have now been discontinued.

The new Lithium-Ion Adflo PAPR battery offers a range of benefits which all aim to improve welding productivity and comfort, when used with a 3M Speedglas™ welding helmet with Adflo PAPR. Available in either Standard (approximately 8 hours run time) or Heavy-Duty (approximately 12 hours run time), the new Adflo batteries are super light and now come standard with One Hour Rapid Charge.

The new One Hour Rapid-Charge function allows welders to charge their battery up to 80% of full capacity in just one hour. This means that over a lunch break you can charge your standard battery to give you over 6 hours run time or over 9 hours with the heavy duty version.

Along with the flexibility of Rapid Charge, the new Adflo Li-Ion battery is around 40% lighter than the old-style Ni-MH Adflo battery. This provides a huge reduction in the overall weight of the Adflo PAPR system, which means more comfortable welding and increased mobility.

If you are looking to upgrade your Speedglas welding helmet and Adflo PAPR to the new Li-Ion battery, we have created two upgrade packages to make it as easy as possible. Choose from either the standard battery (8 hour run time) upgrade kit or the heavy duty battery (12 hour run time) upgrade kit. Both upgrade kits come equipped with the new Rapid Charge Lithium-Ion battery charger.
